What to do in the garden right now
Pick a month. This is the list I actually work from — Garden Zone 7A. Adjust a week or two either way for yours.
Do this month
- Plant garlic, pointy end up, two inches deep
- Pile three inches of leaf mould on the beds
- Lift dahlia tubers after the first hard frost
Leave it alone
- Digging the clay over; the worms do it better
- Composting diseased tomato foliage
