What to do in the garden right now
Pick a month. This is the list I actually work from — Garden Zone 7A. Adjust a week or two either way for yours.
Do this month
- Sow squash, okra and southern peas
- Mulch deep before the heat sets in
- Start the weekly tomato side-shoot pinch
Leave it alone
- Watering little and often; go long and rare
- Mowing below three inches
