What to do in the garden right now
Pick a month. This is the list I actually work from — Garden Zone 7A. Adjust a week or two either way for yours.
Do this month
- Plant potatoes and onion sets
- Harden off brassicas on the porch
- Top-dress beds with compost, undug
Leave it alone
- Tomatoes outside — mid-April frost is real up here
- Pruning spring shrubs; you will cut the buds off
